About The Alliance for Watershed Education of the Delaware River

The Alliance for Watershed Education of the Delaware River is comprised of 23 environmental education centers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The Delaware River is the longest undamned river east of the Mississippi, and its watershed stretches all the way into upstate New York, providing clean drinking water for more than 15 million people – that’s nearly 5% of the entire United States’ population! The Delaware River watershed provides important ecological habitats to a multitude of species, and provides recreation for cyclists, hikers, paddlers and other outdoor enthusiasts.

The Challenge

The Alliance for Watershed Education of the Delaware River (AWE), a collaborative network of 23 environmental education centers, needed a new website to create a consistent and effective resource for current trail and waterway users while attracting and growing an audience of non-traditional users. The website needed to engage visitors in the importance of watershed protection. Students, teachers and families would be able to explore the website for programing, directions, resources, educational content, and more. Along with customized resources section and an interactive map for the 23 Centers in the Alliance, the website required a Salesforce integration and the ability to grow a mailing list. An intuitive Content Management System (CMS) would be intuitive and streamlined for network staff to manage the website content and assets.

YIKES did a great job overhauling, rebuilding & improving our website, particularly given the extremely short timeframe we had. They were very professional, helpful, and informative; they are definitely leaders in their field. They offered training to make sure we were self-sufficient, and have answered any question we’ve had since the site went live. The site functions well and we are thrilled with their design, execution, and the plug-ins they developed & implemented on the site. Highly recommended.
